Giuseppe Zanotti is celebrating 30 years in business with a limited-edition capsule collection placing the brand’s Ring sandal in the spotlight. Released Dec. 9, the shoes are now available from Giuseppe Zanotti‘s flagship boutiques, online store and select multi-brand retailers.
The Ring sandal, considered an icon of the luxury brand, first hit the scene more than 20 years ago. The longstanding silhouette features a crystal embellished strap around the big toe as well as a slender strap across the midsection of the foot.
Zanotti said of the style, “More than just a shoe, to me the Ring is a manifesto. It perfectly embodies my philosophy of enhancing rather than hiding the foot. The minimalistic upper consists of just an ultra-thin leather strap with a nude effect, and the bejeweled ring embellishes the foot.”
The designer also discussed the shoe at a dinner hosted at Caviar Kaspia in Paris last month, when he said the style would be available for one year.
An official description of the reimagined shoe reads, “The crystal pavé has been replaced by a choreography of crystal-clear gems in three cuts – carré, baguette, round – and in different sizes, creating a uniquely vibrant play of reflections. Each toe ring is a masterpiece of craftsmanship, in which every jewel is applied meticulously by hand.”
In addition to a flat version, the collection introduces a variation of the sandal with a block heel. For both iterations, the sole features a customized 30th anniversary signature.
Giuseppe Zanotti has certainly made waves in the world of luxury footwear since its inception. As it celebrates three decades, it remains a brand beloved by stars.
