Nike, Inc.’s Valentine’s Day-themed sneaker offerings won’t be limited to Air Jordans. The Beaverton, Ore.-based athletic brand will also tap its retro-leaning Nike Sportswear division for several new styles including the Cortez colorway pictured here.

Rather than subtly referencing the holiday, this upcoming “Valentine’s Day” Nike Cortez goes all-in on the lover’s holiday theme. For starters, the shoe is clad in a “Light Crimson/Summit White/Fire Red/Dark Team Red/Pink Foam” color combination which can be more succinctly described as red and white. Details are aplenty, including a repeating heart pattern across the shoe’s nylon upper.

Red suede overlays help the shoe maintain a classic edge, while the heart pattern also finds its way to the woven tongue label. On the inside of the shoe, Nike references classic Valentine’s Day conversation candies with custom slogans including “solemates” and “perfect pair.” The latter phrase is also used on an accompanying hangtag. And behind the tongue, “love is in the pair” text adds another playful twist to the retro design.

In addition to the Cortez pictured here, Nike will launch a new Valentine’s Day-inspired Zoom Vomero 5 with similar details as a follow-up to last year’s release. As for Jordan Brand, it’s been confirmed that the label will release a Valentine’s Day-themed Air Jordan 3 complete with jewel accessories. And on the performance side, images have already surfaced of a “Heart Eyes” colorway of Ja Morant’s Nike Ja 2 model. It’s likely that even more pairs could join the growing collection between now and February.

As of now, this Nike Cortez “Valentine’s Day” colorway is expected to be released exclusively in grade school sizing during February 2025 for a retail price of $75.
